On Wednesday 11th February, we were delighted to welcome parents and carers into school for our Parent and Child Cooking Activity Afternoon. The session gave families the opportunity to step into the kitchen together, with children excused from their usual afternoon lessons so they could take part in this special shared experience. There was a wonderful buzz in the room as families worked side by side, chopping, mixing and frying while learning new cooking skills and enjoying some valuable time together. We even had a visit from the Ofsted Inspector, who wanted to join in too! During the session, families created Spicy Korean Faux Chicken, packed with flavour, alongside a delicious cheese bread – a crispy fried flatbread that was a big hit with both children and adults. All ingredients and resources were provided, allowing everyone to fully get involved and enjoy the hands-on experience. It was fantastic to see so many smiles, teamwork and enthusiasm throughout the afternoon. We look forward to welcoming even more families next time – details about our next cooking session will be sent out soon, so keep an eye out and be sure to sign up quickly as spaces are limited!
